Dealing with the network operator

A supply upgrade means an application to the network operator and their timescales are the part most people get caught out by. We do the application, work out the load and tell you honestly how long it is likely to take so you can plan around it.

Once the new supply is in we install the board, the sub mains and the final circuits, then test and certify the lot.

Before you buy the machine

If you are ordering a new machine, a compressor, a spray booth or a set of ovens, get us in first. A ten minute load check now is cheaper than finding out the supply will not carry it after delivery.

Common questions

How long does a supply upgrade take?

The electrical works are usually quick. The network operator application is the long part and it varies a lot by area and by how much extra load you need. We will give you a realistic view once we have looked at the site.

Can I get three phase at home?

Sometimes. It is becoming more common with heat pumps and larger EV chargers. We check what is available in your street before you commit to anything.

Do you install machine supplies?

Yes. We run the supply, fit the isolator and terminate to the machine, then certify it.

Do you work on industrial units?

Yes. We look after units on estates across Hoddesdon, Hemel Hempstead, Stevenage and Watford.
